For your reading pleasure....

First issue of Sugar and Rice,  "the gulf coasts food and culture magazine", available now for $15. A note from the publishers: "We feel like from the beginning, Houstonians have said, “Fuck it, let’s do this.” Fuck it, let’s build our city on a swamp...They see something—a need, a use, an idea—and find a way to make it happen. At some point it became a way of life for us as well...We feel very strongly that there is something special happening in Houston and the Gulf right now...there are still countless stories not being told—or at least not being told at large. We figured we could give it a try."

And this cute coffee table/recipe book by Mando Rayo & Jarod Neece of Taco Journalism, with breakfast taco faves of some of Austins local celebrities like Paul Qui and Adrian Quesada of Grupo Fantasma, as well as recipes from taco connoisseurs like Porfirio's  Tacos and Tamale House.
